Resumen, conclusiones y clausura de la Conferencia, Sergio Díaz de Garayo y Javier Crespo
These days, we have had the fortune to attend the 4th Spanish Passivhaus Conference which was held in Vitoria, Spain. We were lucky because as last year we could learned from the different perspectives about.
For those who access for the first time to Passivhaus model , clarify that it is a noncommercial certification born at the University of Darmstadt (Germany) that has both high theoretical energy demands and buildings construction quality, and – either by the method it is used- the construction should not consume more than 15 kWh/m2year (a conventional house consumes usually 80). The movement global reference is the Passivhaus Institut , and in Spain is organized around Passivhaus Build Platform, PEP (in Spanish), which is not a company but a horizontal platform of professionals, companies, institutions and citizens concerned about the quality of living in a sustainable environment.
Also, it was gratifying the inspirational Vallentin Gemot´s lecture that beautifully described the ways he researches constructive and compositional, and the revelation he did about how Passiv philosophy was virtually ignored in Germany itself until five years ago. Or listen to Gerhard Kopeining how he has to teach the native Austrian workers to build on the Passiv demands each time they start a project.
That is why we like Passivhaus: because it rewards knowledge, rigor, and the project well done. Adds value to the work of good technicians, good architecture built and satisfies customers who risk and worry about the quality, efficiency and environmental sustainability.
Well done by the organization presenting different perspectives that enriched the reflection and discussion: from the economy, the international view, technical solutions, the view of users, rehabilitation …. and problems, of course. As adults, they talked about what works and what does not and how they faced in different countries.
Incidentally, the PHPP app was presented in Spanish.
